چکیده

A micro–electro-mechanical system (MEMS)-based image stabilizer is proposed to counteracting shaking in cell phone cameras. The proposed stabilizer (dimensions, 8.8 8.8 0.2 mm) includes a two-axis decoupling XY stage and has sufficient strength to suspend an image sensor (IS) used for anti-shaking function. The XY stage is designed to send electrical signals from the suspended IS by using eight signal springs and 24 signal outputs. The maximum actuating distance of the stage is larger than 25 lm, which is sufficient to resolve the shaking problem. Accordingly, the applied voltage for the 25 lm moving distance is lower than 20 V; the dynamic resonant frequency of the actuating device is 4485 Hz, and the rising time is 21 ms. 2012 Elsevier Ltd. A Thermally Actuated Polymer Micro Robotic Gripper for Manipulation of Biological Cells

The development of a novel polymer-based micro robotic gripper that can be actuated in a liquid medium is presented in this paper. The basic structure for the gripper is a trimorph thermal actuator with a platinum metal heater encapsulated by poly-para-xylylene C (parylene C) polymer layers. Due to the large difference of thermal expansion coefficients of the different layers, the actuator can ...

Design and performance analysis of thermally actuated MEMS circuit breakers

The use of MEMS electrical switches as miniature electrically resettable circuit breakers is described. A prototype based on nickel thermal actuators on silicon has been fabricated and tested, and thermo-mechanical analysis is presented showing the relation between design parameters and performance. Temperature dependence of trip current is shown to be below 0.2% K−1, and analysis is presented ...

Mechanical Behavior of an Electrostatically-Actuated Microbeam under Mechanical Shock

In this paper static and dynamic responses of a fixed-fixed microbeam to electrostatic force and mechanical shock for different cases have been studied. The governing equations whose solution holds the answer to all our questions about the mechanical behavior is the nonlinear elasto-electrostatic equations. Due to the nonlinearity and complexity of the derived equations analytical solution are ...

Dynamic and Static Pull-in instability of electrostatically actuated nano/micro membranes under the effects of Casimir force and squeezed film damping

In the current study, the effects of Casimir force and squeeze film damping on pull-in instability and dynamic behavior of electrostatically actuated nano and micro electromechanical systems are investigated separately. Linear elastic membrane theory is used to model the static and dynamic behavior of the system for strip, annular and disk geometries. Squeeze film damping is modeled using nonli...

A High-current Electrothermal Bistable Mems Relay

This paper reports the design, fabrication and testing of a thermally -actuated bistable MEMS relay. Mechanical bis tability ensures zero actuation power in both the on and off states, and permits actuation with a transient thermal actuator. In the off state, this relay stands off more than 200 V. In the on state, it exhibits a minimum total resistance of 60 mΩ and a maximum current carrying ca...
